Dalton Love
Dalton was my very first artist and has been a huge supporter of the brand! Originally from New Hampshire, he now calls the storied musical community of Macon Georgia home. He’s a touring guitarist for “the king of juke joint swing” Wayne “The Train” Hancock, gigs with his own and other bands plus plays on sessions. He’s shared the stage with Daniel Donato, Marcus King and other heavyweights in the Americana Music scene. The joy he finds in playing the guitar is evident in every note and he’s always full of energy and spontaneity. His RetroSound Americana Blackguard has fast become his go-to guitar and is now like an old friend. I’m proud to work with Dalton. He embodies all that is right with the music community. He’s a genuinely good human being.
Lew Thomas
I first became aware of Lew a few years ago. He’s got a very popular Country Guitar teaching platform via www.countryguitarplayers.com and also a great social media presence on FB, IG and YouTube. I reached out to him a few months back and we hit it off right from the start. I knew Lew was someone I wanted to work with. He’s a phenomenal player, excellent instructor and just an all around awesome guy! He’s added his RetroSound Americana Custom to his Telecaster collection and has had nothing but great things to say about it. It’s a privilege to work with Lew and I hope we can do so for years to come.
Nico Miguel
Nico and I met somewhat by chance. He was looking for a great SG style guitar and happened to find me on Instagram. He made arrangements to come try a guitar and the rest is history. As soon as I met him, I was impressed by his friendliness and humility. Not to mention his playing ability. Nico’s warm, insightful, and precise teaching style is informed by over a decade of teaching experience in private, academic, and ministry settings. He received an AA in Guitar Performance from the Los Angeles College of Music and a BA in Commercial Music from Concordia University Irvine, where he now serves as adjunct faculty. He is currently working towards his Masters of Music in Studio Guitar at the University of Southern California, where he also serves as a Student Instructor.
Nico also serves as Staff Deacon at Center Church, a One Gospel Network congregation and regularly leads creative workshops for local creatives and worship teams. He is a well know member of the gigging community all around Southern California. He’s genuine, kind, humble and always eager to share his knowledge to help others. I’m very blessed to work with him.
Eric Haugen
I’ve been a fan of Eric’s for years! Many of you will know him from his highly successful YouTube channel (Eric Haugen Guitar) as well as his numerous video lessons available on the Truefire learning platform. You may not know that he also has a couple amazing albums (Runes & Bundle Up) which you can find on all streaming platforms and has also produced some amazing albums for some awesome local artists.
I really wanted to work with Eric, mainly due to his teaching style and the way he showcases gear in his instruction videos. He always showcases new ideas in context of music that many of us love. Also, you get to learn about gear and see how you can use it to actually make music. As I’ve gotten to know him, I’ve found him to be equal parts whit and humility. He’s super well respected and has an audience grown organically by creating interesting and engaging content. It’s a pleasure to call him an artist and friend.
Mikki Suvia
Mikki is not only a RetroSound artist, but also a dear friend. We’ve spent many hours discussing guitars, strings, amps, pedals, bands, guitar players and a host of other music related topics. He’s a long time fixture in the San Diego music scene and has played in bands ranging from the heavy progressive sounds of Zaxas to traditional surf rock with The Surf Kings. He’s brought all his influences and interests together with his new trio, Blu Guru! Blending elements of Prog, Surf, Metal, Space Rock and even some punk! A truly eclectic mix of instrumental goodness!
Mikki had a super cool idea for a Volant model that we decided to call the BGV! He pictured with it here and it’s definitely one of a kind! not unlike the man himself!
